Gargoyles

Author’s Note: This poem was written in 5th grade as a gift for my mother

We awoke at midnight.

I spread my wings, ready for flight.

We arose in the air,

Flying by pair by pair.

We flew down

To the ground

Then up to the roof,

Where we landed hoof by hoof.

For by day we turn to stone;

As decorations, we will be shown.
